LAMOILLE VALLEY RAIL TRAIL
BIKE SHUTTLE

Providing end to end public shuttle service on the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail

Operating weekly June to October

4 days a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday with advanced reservations only (BOOK HERE).

With the Rail Trail still being relatively new we need more ridership to provide a daily shuttle service. Help us grow our services by telling your friends and sharing the word! The greater the demand for our shuttle the more we can operate it!

Bike rental/shuttle combo packages are available.

At 93 miles the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail is the longest recreation trail in New England and stretches across some of the state's most scenic areas. Whether riding the trail for the day or for a few we'll pick you up and shuttle you!

Offering roundtrip transportation for people, bikes and luggage, whether renting one of our bikes or bringing your own. Our 14 passenger bike shuttle and custom bike trailer can fit all types of bikes. Ride the whole trail over a number of days or explore it section by section at your leisure. Custom Group Shuttles are available!

LAMOILLE VALLEY RAIL TRAIL SHUTTLE INFORMATION (please read)

  • Pricing for our shuttle is color coordinated by zones of trail.  All prices are per person, one way rates and includes transportation for you and your bike.

  • Pricing is dictated per zone no matter where one is picked up or dropped off within. Travel within one zone of trail = $25. Travel across two zones of trail = $40. Pricing across all three zones of trail (a full trail ride) = $60.  Taxes and credit card fees will apply.

  • All shuttle rides must be BOOKED IN ADVANCE. The shuttle does not run without advance reservation or with less than two riders. IF you book the shuttle on a day with less than two riders we will hold a seat and wait for additional riders and will provide a full refund if the two rider minimum is not met. Our shuttle is a comfortable large 14 passenger bus, so it doesn't make environmental or economical sense to operate the shuttle with less than 2 passengers.

  • Our shuttle heads west from St. Johnsbury, VT on US Route 2 to VT Route 15 in the morning, stopping at multiple trailheads along the way for pickups/dropoffs. From Cambridge we travel west on route 104 to St. Albans, VT then north to Swanton, VT. We follow the reverse in general in the afternoon with an additional stop in Sheldon Jct. at the intersection of the Mississiquoi Valley Rail Trail.

  • Please PLAN TO ARRIVE 20 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR DEPARTURE TIME. We are generally on time or within 10 minutes of the scheduled departure and we don't want to leave without you.

  • Our shuttle can accommodate all types of regular acoustic bikes and ebikes 49 lbs and under.  Please contact us  in advance if you are using a non-standard bike such as a tandem, recumbent bike, three-wheeler, electric fat bikes or if you are bringing a luggage trailer or other such accessory with you so that we can be sure it fits. Additional charges may apply for the use of our enclosed trailer. Please contact us to discuss options for  a custom shuttle.

  • Bike Racks, Panniers/saddlebags, and pull behind bike cargo trailers are all available for rent as an add on on our booking page.

  • Custom Group Shuttles are available! Please contact us directly and we'd be happy to work with you! Due to cost, groups of 6 or more are recommended for custom shuttles.

  • Due to the road route, it's proximity to the rail trail and the convenient accommodations it offers, we have included St. Albans in our stop schedule.  Though the trail does not go through this town it's proximity with lodging and accommodation make it a desirable LVRT hub.

  • There is usually plenty of parking at the trailheads, however most trailheads do not allow overnight parking. The best overnight parking options can be found at your accommodation or at the Park and Ride in St. Johnsbury at the east end of the trail and the Park and Ride in St. Albans on the west end of the trail.

  • Luggage transport - We can accommodate one bag per person on the shuttle during your shuttle ride. Based on availability, we are working  to offer multiple Luggage and Gear transportation options as we expand this aspect of our business. Please contact us for Daily Luggage transfer options or half-way and full trail destination transfers, we work with each group directly to ensure a smooth trip experience.

  • For more Trip planning information and resources please visit our Rail Trail Info page or purchase our pocket sized Lamoille Valley Rail Trail Adventure Guidebook. (In production)
